Data collection and processing when accessing from the Internet
When you visit our website, our web servers temporarily store every access in a log file. The following data is collected and stored until it is automatically deleted:

– Name, URL and transferred data volume of the retrieved file
– Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
– Identification data of the browser and operating system used
– Website from which the access was made
This data is processed for the purpose of enabling the use of our website (connection establishment), system security, technical administration of the network infrastructure and optimization of the Internet offering. IP addresses are only analyzed in the event of attacks on the network infrastructure of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
Personal user profiles are not created. The German Telemedia Act (TMG) permits the use of user profiles under a pseudonym in accordance with Section 15 (3) TMG, unless the user objects. If we make use of this option on our website, we will inform you of your right to object at the appropriate point.
Personal data will not be processed beyond the cases mentioned above unless you expressly consent to further processing. You have the option of revoking your consent for the future at any time.
Collection and processing of personal data

The processed data may include, in particular, IP addresses and location data of users, which, however, are not collected without their consent (usually as part of the settings of their mobile devices). The data may be processed in the USA.
