Seahorses and Flying Fish / 2015

2015

To mark the 100th anniversary of Dada, Artist Residency Schloss Balmoral invites a new generation of artists to engage with one of the most important art movements of the 20th century. Are the same questions still being asked today as in the past? Where is the boundary between art and life? Where are the divisions between everyday objects and works of art, between art and politics, between humour and seriousness? Under the title “Seahorses and Flying Fish” – from Hugo Ball’s sound poem of the same name – the scholarship holders exhibit in places associated with the Dada movement: The Arp Museum in Bahnhof Rolandseck, the Thermal Baths at the Viehmarkt in Trier and the Forum Alte Post in Pirmasens.
