Location-independent project fellowship
In addition to the residency scholarships, the ARSB and the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry for Family Affairs, Women, Culture and Integration award two location-independent project scholarships each year. These have been managed by the ARSB since 2007. The offer is aimed at visual artists with a connection to Rhineland-Palatinate*.

Requirements
The scholarship is aimed at artists with a connection to Rhineland-Palatinate*. The prerequisite is a completed artistic degree (M.F.A. or comparable) followed by at least two years of artistic practice. Applications from self-taught artists who are characterized by special artistic achievements and can prove this through exhibitions and prizes are possible. Balmoral endeavors to support artists whose work still shows potential for artistic development.
*Relation to Rhineland-Palatinate: The scholarship is aimed at (and/or) applicants who were born, live, work or have studied fine arts with a degree in Rhineland-Palatinate. Proof of temporary residence in Rhineland-Palatinate in the context of a scholarship stay in the region is not considered a fulfilled condition.

An application form is available online for each scholarship during the application period (mid-April to the end of May).
Selection procedure
The decision to award the fellowships is made by a jury of experts with special consideration given to the development potential of the artistic work. The jurors will make their selection according to qualitative criteria.
NOTE: This grant is not tied to the annual theme. Candidates apply with their own artistic project to be supported.
