The Artist Residency Schloss Balmoral invites you to the third edition of the exhibitions of the 2023 scholarship holder year. Since April, the artists from all over the world working in Bad Ems have been exploring the theme of “Coexist”. With this focus on forms of coexistence, the artist residency at Schloss Balmoral, together with the scholarship holders, sheds light on the possibilities and limits of artistic action. The focus is on both aesthetic-artistic and social issues.
On Friday, 24.11.2023, the four scholarship holders of the Artist Residency Schloss Balmoral leo, Alexander Janz, Markues and Nino Bulling will present their artistic perspectives on this topic. On display are works that were created in dialog with the residency location – both with Bad Ems and with the idea of an artist residency in the world. At the invitation of the residency, the sound artist Steloolive (Accra/Berlin) will present a sonic exploration of these positions on the opening evening (24.11.23) – as an aesthetic-philosophical contribution that emphasizes the artist residency’s attitude towards multifaceted art work.
