We introduce: Jungho Jung
Jungho Jung, born in 1981, comes from South Korea and studied in Seoul at Hongik University (photography) and Kunkuk University (mass communication). In his photographic and video art, he goes beyond the mere reproduction of the aesthetic forms of nature: he searches for the hidden subtle energy in the things that surround us. With the help of archive photographs, he examines and presents the naked face of a city. More recently, he has focused on exploring folk tales and popular beliefs, as well as how the seemingly invisible can be captured and reconstructed through photography and video.
At Rich Cake in Bad Ems, Jungho Jung will install different fragments of a picture in a series in the room. The imperfections and open spaces on the paper suggest a quick and inexpensive printout (using a simple printer) and invite viewers to invent new narratives.
