Nazanin Hafez
Nazanin Hafez is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker based in Iran and Germany. Growing up between different cultural and political contexts has shaped her sensitivity to structures of power, systems of control, censorship, and the ways in which violence becomes embedded in everyday life. In her work, Hafez examines how violence and repression are represented, remembered, and witnessed, creating spaces for reflection on trauma and resistance.
She has exhibited internationally and received multiple awards, including the Prix de la Photographie Clervaux (LUX), the Residency Prize at HELLERAU Dresden (DE), and the Wüstenrot Stiftung Documentary Photography Grant (DE). In 2026, she was selected as Foam Talent (NL). Her works are part of the photographic collection of the Museum Folkwang in Essen (DE).
