Fellowship – MMCA Residency Goyang Südkorea
We offer artists with a Rhineland-Palatinate connection* a 3-month stay at the partner residency MMCA Residency Goyang in South Korea. The scholarship is coordinated by the ARSB and funded by the Ministry for Family Affairs, Women, Culture and Integration in Rhineland-Palatinate. The MMCA Residency aims to improve the creative environment for local and international artists and to expand their global network by awarding scholarships to international artists. The on-site program supports artists working with diverse materials and techniques. It offers opportunities to develop creative capacities at the MMCA and to strengthen the exchange with other artists.

- Scholarship money: 1400 euros
- Travel allowance covered up to 1,500 euros

An application form is available online for each scholarship during the application period (mid-April to the end of May).
Requirement
The prerequisite is a completed artistic degree (M.F.A. or comparable) followed by at least two years of artistic practice. Balmoral endeavors to support artists whose work still shows potential for artistic development. Candidates should be released from all professional obligations for the duration of the residency and be proficient in English.
NOTE: This scholarship is not tied to the annual theme.
*Reference to Rhineland-Palatinate: The scholarship is aimed at (and/or) applicants who were born, live, work or have studied fine arts with a degree in Rhineland-Palatinate. Proof of temporary residence in Rhineland-Palatinate in the context of a scholarship stay in the region is not considered a fulfilled condition.
Selection procedure
The ARSB expert jury makes a preliminary selection of applicants; the final selection is made by the partner residency. The jurors select according to qualitative criteria
