Felicia Mülbaier
Felicia Mülbaier (b. 1988) lives and works in Heidelberg. In her artistic practice, she explores material as a repository of time. Using stone, dust and textiles, she creates objects, installations and drawings in which geological processes intersect with questions about the present, material inscription and transience. She studied at the intersection of applied and fine art at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences and at the Idar-Oberstein campus of Trier University of Applied Sciences, graduating with a Master of Fine Arts with distinction. During her studies, she undertook a study abroad programme to the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn and the HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design in Gothenburg. Her work has been supported by grants and international residencies, including at the Baltimore Jewellery Centre (2025) and the DIVA Museum in Antwerp (2026). From 2022 to 2025, she received a studio grant from the City of Mannheim. From 2023 to 2025, she was a mentee in the Rhineland-Palatinate Art Mentoring programme. Alongside her artistic practice, Mülbaier is active in academic teaching. From 2023 to 2025, she was a research assistant at the Faculty of Design at Pforzheim University. She also teaches the fundamentals of design and art at Pforzheim University and Trier University of Applied Sciences, and supervises degree projects.
